ANTAGENE is a research and analysis laboratory specialized in animal genomics. ANTAGENE manages research projects on hereditary diseases, develops and offers DNA tests for animal identification and genetic diseases screening.
As service laboratory, ANTAGENE commercialises DNA-tests to detect mutations responsible for cat and dog genetic diseases and also genetic identification tests, permitting parentage verification and pedigree certification of purebred dogs and cats.
As a research laboratory, R&D programmes of ANTAGENE are focused on the more severe inherited diseases for animal health and well-being, like renal, cardiac or neurological ailments, in order to develop diagnostic tools for breeders, vets and owners.
ANTAGENE disposes of qualified technicians, engineers and executives, of a technical laboratory with state of the art equipments, of a commercial and technical support team, in the aim of ensuring traceability, quality and to respond to customers needs and expectations.
Research team is composed of 5 persons (researchers, engineers, technicians) with strong know-how in animal genomics, molecular genetics, bioinformatics, and population genetics.
ANTAGENE also manages a network of veterinarians and breeders, in order to collect samples from clear and affected animals (several thousands of DNA samples); and perform researches to identify genes, mutations and genetic markers linked or involved in these genetic diseases. ANTAGENE also developed strong collaborative partnerships with academic laboratories in France, like CNRS (for 3 years) and INRA (for 2 years), with European and international laboratories.
ANTAGENE offers DNA identification for cats and dogs to get genetic identification of each animal. It permits parentage verification to certify the pedigree. It is reliable, valid for life and unfalsifiable.
ANTAGENE offers DNA tests to detect mutations responsible for disabling diseases in cat and dog (ocular diseases like night blindness or progressive retinal atrophy, heart disease like hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, kidney disease like cystinuria or polycystic kidney disease). ANTAGENE offers also genetic counseling for breeders.
ANTAGENE develops also markers for population genetic studies of wild animals. Those studies aim at keeping track of population or estimating the hybridization degree in a population. Several species have been studied : rabbit, hare, partridge, marten, boar…
